Fieldtrip

The second grade is currently working on a unit in our Wonder's Reading series called "What have you learned about the world that surprises you?" Several of the stories in this unit discuss the weather.

We will be taking a fieldtrip to KMVT to visit their newsroom and weather station.  We are excited to provide this opportunity to our kids.  The following is information you will need to know for that field trip:
  • Classes will be going individually:
    • 2/17/15 (Tuesday) Mrs. Stokesberry's class
    • 2/18/15 (Wednesday) Mrs. Cowger's Class
    • 2/19/15 (Thursday) Mrs. Impomeni's Class
    • 2/20/15 (Friday) Mrs. Brown's Class
    • 2/23/15 (Monday) Mrs. Snow's Class
    • 2/24/15 (Tuesday) Mrs. Nielsen's class
  • We will leave the school at 10:30.  Before leaving students will be provided with a snack.
  • We will be at KMVT until 1:00.
  • Students will miss their lunch while on this field trip.  Please send your student to school with a sack lunch on the day of the fieldtrip.  Students will eat upon returning to school.
  • If you are interested in attending this fieldtrip, please talk to your child's teacher.

Second Grade Christmas Play

Wow!  Our kids worked really hard and it sure paid off.  They did a great job performing in "The Littlest Christmas Tree."  We appreciate all the parents who brought their kids and hope that you enjoyed the performance as much as we did.  They were awesome.

Our choir practiced so hard.
They sang perfectly.

We are so proud of all the kids who had speaking parts...which was everyone.  We really had to work with the trees and elves to get them to be a little bit "snobby."  I guess that should make us all proud that it took so much work!!

The dolls and soldiers worked so hard on their dances.  It really paid off.

Everyone's favorite...here comes Santa Claus...along with Mrs. Claus and some cute reindeer.

We are so proud of our second graders.  It always feels good to put in a lot of work and then reap the rewards.  Hope your holiday season was wonderful!  Merry Christmas!
